Everyone that blogs, works as a coach, or does any kind of advice giving has a Top Ten List. I’m no exception. After blogging for quite a while now, I have amassed a treasure trove of lists, tips, and tricks to help you along your leadership journey. Below is a compilation of my greatest hits.
10 Tips To Become an Awesome Leader:
Embrace Servant Leadership
Some coaches will encourage you to take the time to find your leadership style, but I’ll go ahead and stop you right now. Congratulations! You’ve found it! It’s Servant Leadership.
Be Creative
Life isn’t all about leadership. Find a hobby! Play an instrument! Do puzzles! Broadening your horizons helps you solve complex problems and view the world creatively.
Lead by Example
Leadership is simple: demonstrate to those you lead what it is you want. Be your own best employee and you will be rewarded with more awesome employees.
Find Your Passion
The best leaders in the world are passionate. Why? Passion is contagious! So, find your passion, whatever it is, and people will be excited to follow.
Be Positive
Not only is passion contagious, but so is positivity. Just do it! We enjoy being around positive people, and opposites don’t attract – optimism keeps the negative Nellies away.
Improve Listening and Communication
Communication is key in any relationship, and listening is key to communication. Become a great listener and a great communicator – there’ll be no stopping you!
Empower Your Team
Give your team the ability to make a difference and be effective. Some of the best teams have multiple leaders, so let them do what they need to do to be great.
Delegate, Delegate, Delegate
Delegating is a great way to empower your team and take things off your plate at the same time. Give yourself the bandwidth to focus less on organizational tasks and more on strategic decisions.
Give Thanks and Gratitude
Show appreciation for the people and things around you. Do it regularly and do it honestly – you’ll thank yourself.
Keep Learning
No matter how old you are and how much you already know, you can always level up. Keep growing and trying new things.
